A few weeks back I discovered Bemz, the brilliant company that does slipcovers for IKEA furniture, but in gorgeous fabrics like Designers Guild and Marimekko.
What on earth are you doing talking about sofa slipcovers you may ask? Have you suddenly become an interiors blog? No, no. But this is relevant.
How many young families have IKEA furniture – er, I think that would be most of them. How many of us have things spilled on our furniture? Again, I think that would be most of us. How many of us have a large amount of money to drop on replacing said furniture when it gets tatty looking? Yes, exactly.
Not all Bemz slipcovers are cheap, but the basic ones are very reasonable, and are infinitely cooler looking than what you can get in the big blue-and-yellow warehouse.
